Our Practice

Why Periodontics?

A Periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the diagnosis and surgical and non-surgical treatment of diseases and conditions of the periodontium. Periodontists are experts in the management of patients with periodontal diseases including all forms of gingivitis, periodontitis and gingival recession (gum recession). In addition, Periodontists have specialized training in placement of dental implants.

Periodontics is one of the nine American Dental Association recognized specialties of dentistry. Periodontists complete 3 years of additional formal training beyond dental school in an accredited residency training program.

At Frick & Jones, our entire staff is dedicated to providing our patients with the highest quality periodontal care utilizing the most up-to-date treatment methods available.

Training and Expertise

We are a team of highly trained and skilled clinicians. To give you the best possible service and results, we are committed to continual education and learning. We attend periodontal lectures, meetings, and dental conventions to stay informed of new techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that a modern periodontal office can utilize to provide state-of-the-art periodontal care. We are members of various professional dental associations and the American Academy of Periodontology keeps us updated on changes and recommendations within our profession.

Education and Prevention

As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal periodontal health. We strive to provide “periodontal health care” vs. “disease care.” That’s why we focus on thorough exams – checking the overall health of your teeth and gums. We also know that routine cleanings, flossing, fluoride treatments and oral home care instructions are all helpful in preventing periodontal disease. A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illness that may impact your periodontal health. In addition, oral cancer screenings are vitally important.

Exceptional Patient Care

Building a foundation of trust by treating our patients as special individuals is vital to our success. We understand how uneasy some patients may feel about their periodontal visits, and how we can make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience.  If indicated, we can provide nitrous oxide sedation or conscious intravenous sedation. Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with excellent, personalized care and service to make your visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

When you visit our practice you will see that maintaining a clean office environment is of paramount importance. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the center for Disease Control (CDC).
